Contrails, and other clouds directly resulting from human activity, are collectively named homogenitus. Their formation can also be triggered by changes in air pressure in wingtip vortices or in the air over the entire wing surface. If water droplets form, they might freeze to form ice particles that compose a contrail. Impurities in the engine exhaust from the fuel, including sulfur compounds (0.05% by weight in jet fuel) provide some of the particles that can serve as nucleation sites for water droplet growth in the exhaust. The combination of water vapor in aircraft engine exhaust and the low ambient temperatures that exist at high altitudes allows the formation of the trails. Contrails are composed primarily of water, in the form of ice crystals. Cirrus has tested the cartridges and had as many as 1400 full puffs.Fog juice is made of Glycerin and Propylene Glycol. The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the fog juice is available on the resources tab. It is not intended for human consumption and should be used as directed on the package.
It does not produce enough smoke to fill a room or building like a theatrical smoke generator, but for tracing air patterns close to surfaces/penetrations, it works great. (eg chases, outlet and switch boxes, windows, etc.) It generates as much smoke as its competitors but is more convenient and leak free, no need for burning "smoke sticks" either.
